Barry Berih

Founder

As the founder of Young Australian People, I am committed to empowering young people from culturally diverse backgrounds to build self-confidence, develop leadership skills, and gain employment. Our programs will cater to individuals aged 16 to 25 who are seeking work or networking opportunities in the community.

Our programs will run three times a month, with classes of approximately 15-20 students. Each program will consist of six, three-hour sessions, culminating in volunteer positions with local mentors. The unique aspect of our program is that previous students will become future trainers, creating a network of mentors and mentees across Melbourne for ongoing leadership and community engagement.

Our facilitators come from a wide range of working backgrounds, including banking, pharmacy, teaching, carpentry, and human resources. These individuals will provide valuable insights and practical skills to our students.

We believe that our programs will be highly successful, as we have previously run similar initiatives with great outcomes. Our goal is to secure additional funding to expand our reach and impact in the community. By providing young people with the tools and resources they need to succeed, we can help bridge the gap between education and employment, promoting social cohesion and reducing inequality.
